Donations Sorter
Purpose: Sort and store donations that are given to us by community members.
Qualifications: You must be able to lift at least 30 pounds and climb stairs.
Time Commitment: Flexible hours between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (some weekends if needed)

Cook/Meal Provider
Purpose: To provide a meal for Stepping Stones Shelter. By cooking a meal for the shelter, the resident parents have more time to work towards their goals of housing and employment.
Description: Dinners must serve about 20 people and we ask that it be a well-balanced meal.

Childcare Worker
Purpose: To keep children safe and busy while parents work towards their goals of housing and employment. The parents can attend workshops, fill out paperwork, search for jobs online, etc.
Qualifications: You must be 15 years or older. Prior experience with children is desired. You must be mature, patient and flexible. You must also be able to commit to a four-month period.
Time Commitment: Sunday-Thursday 7 PM-8:30 PM (Most volunteers do one night a week)

Clerical Worker/ Receptionist
Purpose: To assist with office/administrative work.
Key Responsibilities: General office support- answering phones, answering general questions, Xeroxing, greeting visitors, updating bulletin boards, sending thank-you cards, data entry, etc.
Qualifications: Articulate, organized, respect for confidentiality and discretion.
Time Commitment: Monday-Friday. 2 to 4 hours a week. Flexible hours between 9am-5pm

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
February Edition
Claire Baweja is a sophomore college student at Montgomery County Community College. She has been volunteering at Stepping Stones for only three months, but has served over 90 hours of community service to us! She has done everything from clerical work and childcare to sorting donations. Claire always has a good attitude and a smile on her face. Everyone, from the staff to the resident parents and children, love to have Claire around. Thank you for all that you do for our shelter and residents Claire!
