Mission
Stepping Stones Shelter provides homeless men, women and children
the opportunity to regain their independence by offering food
and shelter in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Stepping
Stones Shelter provides hope for the future, strengthens family
values and enables self-sufficiency.
Our
Vision
We
envision a society in which all families have the opportunity
to provide for themselves the basic necessities of food and
shelter in an environment of hope and family unity.
Programs
Stepping Stones Shelter is one of the few Montgomery County
Shelters that provides services to entire families. The
Shelter Program strives

The Hope
Housing Program allows two large families with disabled
heads of household to live in their own townhouse with wrap-around
services; including financial supports for housing & basic
needs, education/training supports, and ongoing case management.
Funding
Stepping
Stones Shelter is Non-Profit 501(c)(3) privately owned and
operated. We receive
funding from a variety of sources. A partial list follows:
Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services,
DHR, City of Gaithersburg, City of Rockville, local community
groups, churches, synagogues and individual community members.
